Keith Comeau
Counseling Intern
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

My name is Keith. I am a clinical intern seeking a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling who specializes in supporting creative, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA individuals through anxiety, life transitions, and addiction. I utilize methods from cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness techniques, with a foundation in motivational interviewing to facilitate personal exploration. Prior to my graduate studies, I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and have since attended Walden University for my Master's degree. Prior to my clinical internship, I worked in a mental health outpatient clinic where I held an Agency Affilliated Counselor License (CAAR.CG.61515363). In addition to my studies, I have attended formal trainings in Crisis Prevention, De-Escalation, Motivational Interviewing, and more from the Crisis Prevention Institute, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Downtown Emergency Services Center, and Compass Housing Alliance where I co-created and facilitated a mental health training for case managers. For six years leading up to my internship with Arcadia Psychotherapy, I worked supporting the population experiencing mental health problems in addition to barriers to housing. Through my life, work, and my studies I have repeatedly seen that happiness can endure great struggle, I hope to impart that upon all who cross my path.
Mental Health colleagues have told me that my patience is rare. Through working together we can help you experience:
- relief from anxiety and renewed confidence
- identity exploration and growth
- deeper emotional understanding
- support navigating communication differences
My path has been diverted, turned upside down, and rebuilt a few times myself. I've been in that chair you're in, looking for help, too. Along the way, I decided that I wanted to support people the way that I believe everyone deserves. There's not a struggle that I have experienced or been witness to that wouldn't have been helped by adequate mental health care. Outside of counseling, you can find me most likely playing guitar, in front of other humans or just my cat, Maxine (talk about a harsh critic!), or admiring other art. Also I love to spend time outside, in the woods or by "the water," any and all forms.
I hope this helps you get to know me and what working with me may be like. If you're ready to start your journey, click the green "Request An Appointment" button above. It is my wish that you find what you're looking for and that we may talk soon.
